DAY 3 Marrakech Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, we will be driven to the world-renowned Marjorelle Gardens. This captivating garden is home to the vibrantly colored villa once belonging to the painter Jacques Majorelle. With an abundance of cacti, bamboo, and other rare, exotic plants, it was the dream of the fashion designer Yves St Laurent – whose wish, upon his death, was to have his ashes scattered near the villa – to bring the gardens back to life. Now a major attraction in Marrakech, visitors are invited to explore and appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of this spectacular garden.

Following lunch at a delightful eatery, we will return to the Riad for a swim and some down time. Later, we will embark on a guided tour of Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset. A famous market and popular gathering point, Jemaa el-Fnaa has stood in the center of Marrakech for over a thousand years. During the day, you can find stalls selling orange juice, spices, traditional medicines, mint leaves, and even snails. As the sun begins to set, Jemaa el-Fna is filled with the sweet sound of Berber musicians, Gnaoua dancers, acrobats, and storytellers – all of whom come together to perform and entertain. As the night progresses, henna tattoo artists and tooth-pullers can be seen in the bustling square, as well as slapstick comedians, poets and more.

Known as the largest in Morocco and renowned globally as one of the most wondrous places for shopping, the souks of Marrakech will no doubt exceed your expectations! Even if you’re not in the market for any purchases, the phenomenal atmosphere here is worth the experience alone.

DAY 6 Marrakech

This morning we set off on a wonderful adventure: a journey on a classic sidecar! With the help of an old map, our local Guide will show us both the city’s landscape and a custom itinerary. Put on your helmet, slip on your shades, and jump on-board! In Marrakech’s amazing maze of alleys, the ancient French quarter, or the mythical palm grove, there are bound to be surprises lurking around every corner. A vibrant flea market, secret gardens behind closed doors, and classical Art Deco structures in the palm grove are just a few of the many secrets we will unveil during this unique outdoor excursion.

This afternoon, it’s all about the hammam! The ritual of the hammam draws on ancient purification and beauty methods that have been around for centuries. To create these treatments, we’ve done our research on the history of thermal baths, and uncovered the beauty secrets of Moroccan women who have been practising this thousand-year-old art. So, let’s surrender ourselves to this luxurious experience in a hammam, where the treatments are just as mysterious and captivating as they have been for centuries.

Finally, we’ll finish off with a tea service in the garden. Choose from either a British, French, or Moroccan-inspired table setting. Each of them are delicious, so let’s make sure to pick different ones so we can sample them all!
