DAY 2 Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

Today, you have the opportunity to explore the Gate of Africa, Tangier–a melding of Mediterranean cultures. Our journey begins in the luxurious New City, passing by royal summer homes and celebrity residences. We’ll then drive to Cap Spartel, the lighthouse that marks the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea’s official separation. Afterward, we slip through the winding alleys of the Medina, complete with spice markets and St. Andrew’s Church, lurking off the main square. Afterwards, we go to Tetouan City, the ‘Daughter of Granada’. Visit the Guersa Kebira Square and become entranced by the lively souks. Finally, we’ll explore Chefchaouen–the blue town that was founded by Moorish exiles in 1471, located high in the Rif Mountains. Come and enjoy the Gate of Africa’s wonders!

DAY 3 Discover Chefchaouen

Explore the stunning city of Chefchaouen, Morocco, nestled beneath the Rif Mountains. Meander along the narrow, twisting pathways, admiring the whitewashed homes and red tiled roofs, each one a brilliant, almost-electric blue. Go on a guided sightseeing tour with a friendly local, and uncover the culture of this vibrant Moroccan region. Along the way, admire the Arab-Andalusian art, architecture and squares, be captivated by the traditional public ovens, and witness the historic 14th-century fortress and grand mosque located at Outa Hammam Square. End your journey at Ras El Maa spring and take in the panoramic views of watermills, natural pools, and mountains. Let Chefchaouen amaze you with its sheer beauty and culture.

DAY 4 Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

We begin our journey headed toward Volubilis, the archaeological Roman site protected by UNESCO and featuring incredible mosaics, Latin inscriptions, and art. Following our discover of Volubilis, we will proceed to the 17th century Imperial city of Meknes. Here we will stroll the ramparts surrounding the Medina, marvel at the grandiose Bab Mansour gate, and visit the impressive Sahrij Swani granary, where grain and water were stored for 12000 horses. In the local Lahdime market, we will have the opportunity to view the amazing diversity of olives Meknes has to offer. We conclude our tour with a drive through the countryside and its fields of barley, wheat, and olive trees.

DAY 5 Fez City tour

Discover the hidden beauty of the old medina of Fez and its 9000 alleyways today with a local tour guide. Start the journey with a visit to the magnificently ornate Royal Palace gate and enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the southern tower of Fes. Then, venture to the pottery cooperative to witness the artisans crafting beautiful tiles and authentic Moroccan mosaics. Wander through the vibrant and narrow streets filled with a variety of products, locals and donkeys carrying goods, and learn more about the traditional handcrafted items. Don’t forget to explore one of the local Koranic schools (Medrassa), the Nejjarine fountain and the renowned Karaouine Mosque University. The tour will finish with a stop at the renowned leather tanneries, where you can watch locals crafting skins of goat, lamb, camel and cow in small pits. Once the day has come to an end, enjoy a sumptuous meal of Fes cuisine.

DAY 6 Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga Sahara

Today we are setting off from the regal city of Fez to explore another part of Morocco, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We take a short rest in the resort village of Ifrane, nicknamed the small Switzerland and the home of Morocco’s first ski resort. Along the way, we will witness remarkable mountain and plains views, and get the chance to observe a unique type of native monkey, the Maggot monkey in Azrou. We stop for lunch in Midelt for their annual Festival of Apples. There is a strong contrast between the landscapes as soon as we reach the city of Errachidia, named for Prince Moulay Rachid in 1971. We then drive through the Ziz Valley and Arfoud, the gateway to the Saharan Desert. Upon arriving to Merzouga, we ride camels to witness a stunning sunset in the middle of Erg Chebbi’s sand dunes. Spend a peaceful night in a desert camp, where dinner is served beneath the glowing stars of the night sky.

DAY 7 Merzouga – Todra & Dades Gorges – Skoura

After a tasty breakfast, we take the journey from Erg Chebbi in Merzouga towards the ancient irrigation system of the Ziz oasis. We stop for lunch in the Valley of Todra gorges, an area renowned for being a trading post for silver and jewellery for many centuries. The 15km valley has become a popular destination for rock climbing and picnics. Then we travel down the Dades Valley, which is awash with stunning rock formations that have been shaped by years of erosion. The next stop on our adventure is the Rose Valley, the only place in Morocco where Damascus Rose is farmed – the rose petals are used to make rose water and oil that are a great remedy for skin treatments and wrinkles. Finally, we arrive at the palm groves of Skoura Oasis and settle in for the night.

DAY 8 Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhdaou – Marrakech

To start your day, you have the option to explore the Kasbah of Ameridil before making your way to the ‘Hollywood of Africa’, Ouarzazate. Here, you can experience the wonders of Cinema Studio. Afterwards, you will journey through the Ait Benhaddou village, where you can admire the ancient dwellings and the sites of various films, such as “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Jesus of Nazareth,” and “Gladiator.” The village is listed as a World and National Culture site by UNESCO in 1987. Continuing north, you will travel through the picturesque High Atlas Mountains, via Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, before finally reaching the pink city of Marrakech.

DAY 9 Marrakech City Tour

After a delicious breakfast, you will be taken on a guided tour of Marrakech. First, you will visit the Jack Majorelle gardens with its exotic plants, artfully painted with indigo blue. From there, you will go to the 19th Century Bahia Palace, a prestigious location noted for its intricate mosaic and stucco work. It is said to have been the home of the Grand Visir, his four wives, and 24 concubines. The afternoon will be spent admiring the architecture of the Saadian Tombs and exploring the richly diverse souks of Marrakech. You will finish the day in the lively Jemaa lfana Square, known for its snake charmers, monkeys, food stalls and musicians. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

DAY 10 Day Trip to the Atlas Mountains

Today you and your partner will get to spice up your honeymoon with a visit to the Atlas Mountains. Here you can admire the views of the lush valleys and the striking villages that dot the mountainside, all with the highest peak in North Africa, Mount Toubkal, in the background. Imlil is a peaceful village in the region, with pink houses and abundance of trees, most notably walnut. During your stay, you’ll be able to take a short hike with a local guide and enjoy a lunch at the nearby Richard Branson-owned Kasbah Tamadot or the now-restored Kasbah of Toubkal, which makes for the perfect spot to relax and admire the surrounding mountains and valleys.
